Stealth gaijin!

While ethnically foreign folk get Gaijin Powers in japan, such as the Gaijin Smash, ethnically east-asian folk get GaiNinja powers.
Powers that allow them to shock Japanese people by sitting near one, waiting for them to say something in japanese, and then smile and say "I have no idea what you just said" in perfect english.
Instant jawdrop.

I had the same experience in China. Some of my fellow classmates were of various Asian heritage, sometimes mixed like Chinese-Vietnamese, but only one or two actually spoke Chinese. The Half Asian-Half Caucasians I think had it the worst of the lot. A thousand pairs of eyes constantly trying to figure out how to classify them, and a slightly hostile ambivalence when interacting with them.
